Preparing a site for publication

The pre-publication process is also simple.

To prepare a site for publication:

1 Clear the site.

2 Check the site for errors.

3 If necessary, export the site.

The export step is rarely necessary. Consult your server administrator before you take it.

You clear a site to make sure the listings in the primary site window reflects its current contents. For information, see Cleaning up the site. Along with errors such as broken links and missing pages, you may need to check the site for unresolved pending links. Exporting a site is converting it to a structure suitable for the particular Web server you are uploading it to. For information, see Exporting a site.
